THE BIRMINGHAM County FA’s first ever Pan-Disability education league festival day will be held at Redditch United’s Trico stadium next month.
The new all-inclusive event will take place between 10am and 2pm on March 30 and will act as the centrepiece for the organisation’s new pan-ability football division.
The Pan-Disability Education League is open to Further Education students aged between 16 and 18 who love the beautiful game and want to compete in disability football.
The education league festival day will act as the grand finale to the Pan-disability division’s inaugural season and will allow the players to showcase their talents and recognise their achievements on the pitch.
The league sees three teams compete against each other in a series of fixtures, with the festival day acting as the campaign’s final matchday with all teams facing each other one more time.
At the end of the day, the league champions will be crowned and all competing players will be presented with a medal.
In addition, each team will be able to nominate their Player Of The Season.
Disability football is the seventh-largest team sport in the country.
It is estimated that 18.4million people across England have a long-standing disability or illness.
