THE AUTUMN edition of the National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair will take place at The Abbey Stadium on Sunday, November 13.
The fair has been running twice a year for the last 26 years and is the biggest gathering of vintage fishing tackle dealers, collectors and enthusiasts in the country.
The four-hour event will begin at 9am and will feature 36 stalls selling vintage and antique fishing tackle.
Event organiser John Andrews has been working on the fair for 17 years, and said he was keen for anyone who may have links to the old fishing tackle industry in Redditch to visit.
He said: “At the last fair in May, Ian Grubb, whose Great Uncle Sydney was Works Manager at the Milwards factory in the town dropped in and spent three hours in deep in conversation with Garry Mills, the chief mechanical engineer at The Mill Tackle Company in Studley whose premises stand on the site of the old Milwards works.
“The fair prides itself on its tangible links with the people of Redditch and their history, and it is these links that have helped it keep going.”
The fair is £4 to enter and refreshments will also be available in the cafe.
