COOKHILL Baptist Church held its flower festival with plenty of amazing displays to look at.
The church has been holding flower festivals annually towards the end of June with each year’s displays having a chosen theme.
The 2020 event was cancelled due to the pandemic and a simpler flower festival was held last year.
This year’s theme was the “I AM’s (Hebrew YAHWEH) from the gospel of John in the New Testament and church members created stunning displays based upon it.
“I AM (YAHWEH) is the personal name for God and John in his Gospel portrays various aspects of this name to show Jesus’s teaching mission in relation to his believers then and now.
Displays were based on ‘I AM the Bread of life’ (John 6:35) and ‘I AM the light of the world’ (John 8:12) among many other extracts from the gospel.
Visitors could enjoy Ploughman’s lunches, afternoon teas and morning coffee throughout the weekend.
Children got to have a horse ride between on Saturday and the weekend finished with garden praise in the orchard on Sunday morning.
