Food and toiletries collection for homeless and those in poverty in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 8th Jul, 2017   0

VOLUNTEERS will be at Sainsbury’s supermarket tomorrow, Saturday, collecting foodstuffs and toiletries for the homeless and poverty stricken of Redditch.

The initiative has been organised by local charity Acts of Kindness which runs the town foodbank from St Stephen’s Church.

The volunteers will be handing out a list of goods which shoppers might like to consider buying as they do their supermarket run.
They can then donate their purchase as they leave the shop.

Anyone who can’t make Sainsbury’s on Saturday can drop donations off at the Oasis Christian Centre on the corner of Plymouth Road and Bromsgrove Road.

The Oasis Christian Centre is also be the venue for a fund raising day the following Saturday, July 15.

Running from 12noon to 3pm, it will feature a table top sale, plus a home craft and cake fair.

Not only that but there will also be strawberries and cream available plus drinks.

All funds raised will go to helping those in need in Redditch.
