ACTS of Kindness, the Trussell Trust foodbank serving Redditch, has launched new Thursday evening sessions from 4pm to 7pm in response to a significant rise in working households seeking crisis food support.
Based at 24 Church Green East, directly opposite the library, the foodbank has expanded its hours to ensure people in employment – who often cannot attend during the day – can still access vital help when they need it most.
As a Trussell Trust foodbank, Acts of Kindness operates a voucher system and there is a list on the foodbank website and pinned on its Facebook page outlining the many places people can access a voucher.
Visitors will receive a warm, friendly welcome from trained volunteers, along with a hot drink and the chance to talk about their situation.
Clients will be provided with a three‑day emergency food parcel and signposting to further support.
A Christians Against Poverty debt coach will also be available on site, offering free, face‑to‑face, award‑winning debt advice.
Project manager Emma Marshall said: “We have had emails and phone calls from residents asking how they could access food support, but because they work, they simply can’t get to us during our daytime sessions.
“To respond to this growing need, we’ve recruited a new volunteer team to open later into the evening so everyone in our town can access vital support when they need it.”
Acts of Kindness encourages anyone who is struggling – whether due to rising costs, reduced hours, unexpected bills or other pressures – to come forward.
No one will be judged, and no one will be turned away without support.
