'For too long, hardworking families were let down' - Chris Bloore's Westminster Diary

LAST WEEK, Britain reasserted itself on the world stage.

Our Prime Minister stood shoulder to shoulder with President Trump in Washington, reaffirming the UK-US alliance and our unwavering support for Ukraine.

Back in London, he brought together NATO and European allies, showing the world that Britain leads with strength, not hesitation.

Like me, I know everyone in Redditch and the villages hopes for peace, and Labour is standing firm to secure it.

But leadership isn’t just about the global stage – it’s about delivering for people right here in Redditch.

For too long, hardworking families were let down.

Water companies polluted our rivers, NHS waiting lists spiralled, GP appointments became impossible to book and NHS dentistry collapsed while fat-cat executives pocketed millions.

That era is over. Labour is taking bold action where the Conservatives failed for 14 years.

NHS dentistry was left to rot.

Patients in pain, children unable to see a dentist, families left stranded.

That’s why Labour is delivering 700,000 extra urgent dental appointments, with thousands coming to Redditch. No more waiting, no more suffering – just action.

We’re fixing the NHS’s front door too. The 8am scramble for GP appointments is ending.

We’re slashing red tape, bringing back the family doctor, and making it easier to book online – freeing up phone lines for those who need them most.

And we’re cleaning up our environment.

The Tories let private water companies pump raw sewage into our rivers while their CEOs raked in bonuses. That stops now. Labour’s new water (Special Measures) Act means polluting bosses will face prison, not paydays.

Every sewage outlet will be monitored in real time – no more secrecy, no more excuses.

Locally, we’re making a difference.

St Stephen’s C of E First School is one of the first to benefit from Labour’s free breakfast clubs, ensuring every child starts the day ready to learn.

I’ve been out listening to residents, tackling issues like potholes, anti-social behaviour and rural crime.

If you need help, I want to hear from you.  Email me at [email protected] – together, we’re making Redditch’s voices heard – and making Britain strong again.
