A FORMER pupil of Studley St Mary’s CofE Academy has been appointed the school’s new headteacher.
The experienced Rebecca Gordon has worked at several schools across Worcestershire, Birmingham and Nottinghamshire.
But to return to her childhood school is a dream come true for Mrs Gordon, who was appointed in October.
She said: “Despite taking over headship in the middle of a pandemic, and part way through a term, I have had a fantastic start at the school.
“I am so excited about building on the many strengths which the school has.”
Mrs Gordon wants to instill in her pupils the same love of learning she was given as a child.
She is also eager to provide excellent academic standards, build on the already excellent PE provision and inspire the children to become active members of their community.
The school has long-established roots within the community and is a feeder school for Studley High School – well known for it’s outstanding provision.
Mrs Gordon added it is important for links with the church, community and high school to develop in order to maintain the village’s beating heart.
