FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in Redditch last night (May 22).
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service responded to the fire in a first floor flat on Oxhill Close shortly after 7pm.
Four crews – two from Bromsgrove and one each from Redditch and Wyre Forest Fire Stations – supported by a Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Alcester and Henley and Warwickshire’s aerial ladder platform were sent to the scene.
A man in his 50s was evacuated from the flat prior to their arrival, and was seen by paramedics.
Around 50 per cent of the flat was affected by the fire, which was fully extinguished in around 90 minutes.
