Free driver awareness sessions now available thanks to West Mercia Police

FREE driver awareness sessions are now available as part of a West Mercia Roads Focus campaign.

Drop-in sessions have also been organised for people to attend and raise concerns they have with roads in their area.

There will also be a free driver awareness session, held in partnership with national driver-education providers TTC, that will test drivers on their Highway Code knowledge and cover off speeds, road signs and hazard perception.

Those attending will also benefit from a 20 per cent discount on dashcams.

Alongside that, being offered for the first time, is hands-on driver training that will allow people to improve their skills when it comes to over and under steering, emergency braking techniques and improving overall confidence.

To encourage more people to take up this opportunity, the course is being offered at 50 per cent of the full cost.

One session is on offer:

Thursday, November 28 from 1pm to 4.30pm – Driver training session, Long Lane, Throckmorton, WR10 2JH – book on via Eventbrite: www.bit.ly/DriverTrainingPCC

Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia John Campion (pictured above) said: “As we work together to improve the roads and increase enforcement where possible, it is only right that we do the same with education.

“Once again we want to hear from people and look to address concerns that are raised, but I am pleased to be offering people the opportunity to not only improve their knowledge but their driving skills too.”
