Free PAT testing for Redditch businesses

Redditch Editorial 20th Oct, 2023   0

REDDITCH Business Improvement District (BID) have launched a new scheme aimed at supporting its members.

Starting this month, Redditch BID will be offering free Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services to its member businesses.

The scheme aims to assist businesses in meeting legal requirements and ensuring the safety of their electrical equipment.

PAT testing is essential to identify faults or electrical hazards in portable appliances that may pose a risk to employees, customers, or premises.

By offering this service free of charge, Redditch BID aims to alleviate the burden of additional costs for its members and enable a safer business environment for the entire community.

Muj Rahman, Redditch BID manager, said: “We understand the importance of providing support and value-added services to our members.

“By offering free PAT testing, we aim to not only help businesses comply with regulations, but also ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved, including employees and customers.

“We are committed to fostering a thriving and secure business environment in Redditch.”

Redditch BID has partnered with an experienced electrical services provider to carry out the PAT testing.

The service will cover the inspection and testing of portable appliances, certification, and assessment of any remedial actions required.

To take advantage of this offering, Redditch BID members can contact the Redditch BID team for an application form and arrange an appointment.

The PAT testing services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, so businesses are encouraged to reach out as soon as possible.
