BIG-hearted youngsters are to hold a fund raising football match following the tragic death of Carrick Prentice Underwood.

The son of Maggie and Rob Underwood, Carrick passed away two weeks ago aged just 19.

Many of the teenager’s friends and family regularly attend the local youth centre in Matchborough which is run two evenings a week by Hayley Capper, head of year at RSA Arrow Vale.

The older members at the club were keen to organise a football match to raise funds for Carrick’s funeral and to donate to his parents’ charity.

Maggie and Rob, who had already seen two of their children tragically pass away, have devoted their lives to putting lifesaving defibrillators schools, community halls and other public venues not only in Redditch but across the region through their charity Charlotte and Craig’s Saving Hearts Foundation (CCSHF).

The match for Carrick takes place this Saturday, January 27 between a team of Carrick’s friends and a Tamworth XI at Studley BKL Sports ground which is off the A435 close to the Washford Mill.

The event starts at 12noon and will also feature a penalty shootout plus there will be a bar, food, and a tombola and raffle.

Everyone is welcome to go along, enjoy the match, boost funds for CCSHF and to remember a youngster who passed away too soon.
