Fun day appeal for vital operation to save the leg of Redditch girl Victoria

A MAJOR fundraising day is being held this Saturday, June 29, to help fund a vital operation for a three year-old Redditch girl.

Victoria Widulinska suffers from a condition which has left her with weakened bones.

This has meant that since she was six months old she has been suffering from breaks, particularly in her right leg.

Last month she broke her leg again and now there are fears it will never heal properly.

Victoria’s mum, Anna Pawlik said: “She is on waiting list for an operation on the NHS but the list is long and we do not even have specific date.

“Last time we saw a doctor we were told to wait and even then the operation is not very promising as the bone is not now able to heal.

“After the operation it might not heal properly and then amputation is the only other option.”

With Victoria now unable to walk, in desperation Anna came across the Paley Institute of Florida which specialises in orthopaedic and spinal surgery and which has a branch in Poland, the Paley Institute of Warsaw.

“Anna asked us if we could help as she needs to raise £50.000 for the operation to take place in Europe,” said Frankie Prazer of the Redditch Anglo-Polish fundraising group WOSP.

“Dr Paley with his new promising method of treatment will perform the operation to try and save Victoria’s leg.

“After the operation she will need intense physiotherapy to get back on her feet and money to get back to clinic for further treatment and checks.”

WOSP Redditch has organised a children’s fun day this Saturday, June 29, at The Queens Head, Queens Road, opposite Redditch Police Station in aid of Victoria.

A host of attractions include a bouncy castle. face painting and children’s entertainment from 3pm.

There will also be cartoon mascots, a raffle and auction prizes, pool and foosball competitions, soft play ball pit for the younger ones plus Music from DJ Mazen Sly, Tomasz Stelmach, Mitch Loveridge and Poppy Waterman-Smith and guest multilingual singer ‘Fireflex’ who is also supported by Banitamaxx Radio.

Plus there will also be a Polish barbecue to enjoy.

Victoria also has a justgiving page to fund physiotherapy. To donate click here
