THERE’S fun for all the family at scarecrow-making sessions at Redditch’s Forge Mill Needle Museum this Bank Holiday weekend.

Could yours be one of the best three scarecrows in Redditch this year, as judged by the Mayor of Redditch Councillor Juliet Brunner, and win £75, £50 or £25 of Kingfisher Shopping Centre vouchers?

Scarecrow Day itself follows on Bank Holiday Sunday, August 26 from 11am to 4pm, featuring a last chance to make scarecrows – just bring some old clothes along and you can buy the other materials to make your character for just £3 – alongside children’s activities, pony rides and craft stalls.

Plus there will be live music from The Fidgets, a music workshop, and more.

Admission to Scarecrow Day includes entry to the museum’s featured Lego exhibition, ‘Brick Built’ and is £1 for children, £2 adults.

Councillor Mike Rouse, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for leisure and tourism, said: “My five year old has been mad about Minecraft lately and is really looking forward to making one of the characters from the game.”

Forge Mill Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre is on Needle Mill Lane.
