Fun for all at Redditch Library science fiction event

FAMILIES and space enthusiasts are invited to a free, fun-filled day of cosmic creativity and science fiction at Redditch Library.

The event, held on Saturday August 30, is put on by Redditch Astronomical Society and promises something for everyone – from budding young artists to dedicated sci-fi fans.

The day kicks off at 11am with a Q&A session with illustrator Becky Hardy, best known for her work on the children’s book An Unlikely Astronaut.

This will be followed by a Space Drawing Workshop ideal for children aged five and over hosted by Becky.

In the afternoon, author Chris Beckett – winner of the Arthur C. Clarke Award – will speak about his writing career and his celebrated Dark Eden Trilogy during a live interview session at 2pm.

Free tickets for this part of the event are available from Redditch Library.

A raffle will also be held, offering attendees the chance to win signed copies of: An Unlikely Astronaut, signed by NASA astronaut Susan Kilrain and The complete Dark Eden Trilogy by Chris Beckett.

The event is supported by Arts in Redditch and aims to make space, science and storytelling accessible to all.
