THE SUN was shining and the gates were open to visitors to at Winyates Green Allotment Association’s open day last Saturday.
Organisers said the day went extremely well, and included lots of stalls from crafts, tombola, jewellery making, cakes and home-grown fruit and veg.
Visitors got to see the vegetable beds, colourful flower borders, and displays of fruit and vegetables.
Claire Deykin, from the association, said: “The whole day took a lot of hard work and planning by all those involved. It brought the community together and in return made much-needed funds for the benefit of the allotments and our plot holders.”
