Get an insight into town's past when Redditch History Society's talks start up again

REDDITCH local History Society has relaunched its monthly meetings at the Oasis Christian Centre, starting on August 13 with a talk by club secretary Anthony Green on the ‘History of Needles’.

Five years ago he spoke about the fishhook industry and he is now writing a book on Redditch industry, starting with needles.

The talk will include videos of the Forge Mill Needle Museum and look at the start of needles, how they found their way to Redditch and the town’s industry success.

On September 13, cub chair Don Vincent – in the top tier of experts on Bordesley Abbey and its history – will give a talk on The Windsors.

The presentation examines the family forced by Henry VIII to give up their London lands and property and accept a swap with the Bordesley Abbey possessions.

Non-members welcome at an entry of £3 refundable against the membership fee of £10.
