THE Redditch Repair Cafe is re-starting – and after more than a year of lockdowns the town’s expert repairers are ready to breath new life into all manner of possessions which may be ripped, torn or have simply stopped working.
Needless to say in this age of Covid the procedure has changed slightly but organisers are confident the quality of repairs will be as high as ever.
The big day is this Saturday, June 26, and people are asked to drop off their items at reception at the cafe’s usual base at Community House on Easemore Road between 10am and 12midday.
The team will then set to work and see if they can be repaired. When ready the they will ring the owner for collection.
A full range of skills will be on offer, from bicycle repair man Doug Pinkerton to a sewing lady plus experts in electrical, electronic and computer repairs and a number of ‘jacks of all trades’.
As ever the repairs will be completely free of charge but donations would be welcome to keep the service going.
