IT’S Repair Cafe time in Redditch this Saturday, July 28.
Running from 10am to 2pm at Community House in Easemore Road, residents are welcome to bring in their old but much loved possessions in need of a repair to get them back working again.
These can be anything from electrical to mechanical, hi-tech to lo-tech, and volunteers will even be on hand to do clothing repairs too.
It will also be a poignant day for one of the team, Nancy Croft, who is off to study at Queen’s College, Belfast, as a mature student.
Nancy is a familiar face to Repair Cafe regulars, welcoming people at the front desk and also doing sewing repairs.
“She will be very much missed as will her creativity, positivity, kindness and sense of humour,” said Kath Manning from the Repair Cafe.
“We wish Nancy all the best and much happiness in her next adventure.”
The Repair Cafe is free, although donations are gratefully received and people are welcome to enjoy a beverage and a biscuit while their repair is carried out.
Anyone wanting to wish Nancy well can pop down to the Repair Cafe, leave a message on Redditch Repair Cafe Facebook page or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
