THERE are some new green fingers at the helm of Studley in Bloom after chair Gill Liebthal stepped down after ten years in charge.
In that time the Bloomers have won gold awards for the village in the Heart of England in Bloom awards and scaled the dizzy heights of Britain in Bloom to win a Silver Gilt award.
“We never dreamt we’d be in the nationals and I don’t think any of us will ever forget the day we were asked to enter,” said Gill.
A team player to the last, she paid due tribute to all in Studley in Bloom who joined her on the journey.
“I’m just so grateful for all the support I’ve received from everyone – it’s got us to everything we have achieved,” she said.
Taking over is former teacher Jan Platt and Gill said Studley in Bloom was in safe hands.
“She’s already doing a fantastic job,” said Gill.
