GlastonBeoley Festival line up all ready to play for music fans

THE team from GlastonBeoley are taking to the streets to let everyone know about their Covid-safe fundraising festival for Redditch charities.

Scheduled for the weekend of July 31 – August 1 at The Portway home of Birmingham-Solihull Rugby Club, they were busy handing out flyers in Redditch last week and this Saturday they’ll be at Morrisons supermarket shouting about the event and playing some live music too courtesy of the band ‘Lampshade’.

Festival director Debbie Joynes, who also doubles as one half of Lampshade, said: “All our early bird tickets have gone but we arre still offering discounts on advanced tickets.

“We understand people’s anxieties over coronavirus and that’s why, even with restrictions being lifted, we have gone through a Covid secure risk assessment and we will still be encouraging people to socially distance.

“We want festival-goers to enjoy themselves safely while at the same time listening to some great music and raising lots of money for local charities into the bargain.”

This year’s event is backed by Redditch-based Knights Pharmacy, and is in aid of Redditch Nightstop, Redditch Babybank, Redditch Special Olympics and Noah’s Star.

A packed programme of music over the Saturday and Sunday has already been arranged and attractions include Caribbean cuisine, a hog roast, burgers and two bars as well as fun for children.
