GlastonBeoley online auction is just egg-celent for Sam at the QE

THE organisers of GlastonBeoley Music Festival held an online auction in the run up to Easter with a bumper chocolate egg on offer.

The idea had originally been to hold the auction at one of their fund-raising quizzes at the end of March – until coronavirus intervened.

Instead it all went online with the eventual winner being Alvechurch resident Jackie McGrath, who promptly donated the egg to her niece Samantha – a Ward Sister at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham – for her and her clinical team to enjoy.

GlastonBeoley director Debbie Joynes said: “As you can imagine, it’s been very difficult to continue with our festival fundraising efforts at this time; the online auction proved very popular and we couldn’t have been more delighted that it went to Sam and her wonderful team at the QE.

“We’d like to thank everyone who took part – and especially Redditch Lions who kindly donated the beautiful egg.”

This year’s GlastonBeoley festival will be held at Birmingham and Solihull Rugby Club at Portway, and has been extended to a full weekend of music, workshops and family fun on June 6-7 with camping available.

All musicians will be giving their time for free with the proceeds from ticket sales going to Redditch NightStop, Redditch Baby Bank, Redditch Special Olympics and Noah’s Star.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available and tickets are on sale. Visit GlastonBeoley Music Festival on Facebook or email [email protected].
