Go all in against Cancer at Redditch Race for Life

PEOPLE are being invited to go ‘all in’ against cancer this spring by signing up for Race for Life in Redditch.

Cancer Research UK’s much-loved events, which raise funds for life-saving research, are returning to the town.

Money raised at Race for Life enables scientists to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer  –  to bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.

The Race for Life 5k and 10k events take place at Arrow Valley Park on Sunday June 14. People of all ages and abilities are welcome.

A month later – on July 11 – the Birmingham Pretty Muddy 5k will take place at Cofton Park in Rednal.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life raises millions of pounds every year across the UK, funding crucial research.

Alanis Morata, a spokesperson for Cancer Research UK, urged everyone to ‘go all in against cancer and to help fund life-saving research’.

“Sadly nearly one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime but all of us can support the research that will beat it.

“Spring is an ideal time to commit to getting more active as the days get a little warmer.

“Race for Life powers progress and it relies on a whole community of people coming together, united by a common purpose to beat cancer.

“Whether you’re a five-a-side crew, book club, dance troupe, yoga club, fancy doing something with your friends – or on your own – we want everyone to join us.

Since it began in 1994, more than 10 million people have taken part in Race for Life, contributing millions of pounds towards life-saving research.

The charity also helped prove the link between tobacco and cancer, preventing millions of deaths worldwide.
