THE Easter story comes alive in Redditch on Good Friday (March 25) when local churches unite to hold a Walk of Witness around the town centre and the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.
The event recreates a key element of the event, Jesus’s carrying of the cross, and up to 200 people are expected to follow the journey of the cross in Redditch, which this year starts from the town’s Baptist Church in Easemore Road at 10.30am before making its away through the centre.
“We will be carrying a big cross and it’s for Christians to remember the Easter message,” said Pastor Andrew Diaper from the Baptist Church.
“We will also be giving away palm crosses to mark Palm Sunday and hot cross buns – just to show people some loving at Easter.”
Everyone is welcome to either join the journey or witness the event themselves as join in the celebration of Easter.
