Grants handed out to Redditch groups and projects

Redditch Editorial 27th Jan, 2018   0

MORE than £136,000 of funding has been granted to projects and community groups in Redditch, thanks to the borough council.

The funding was granted to groups which most closely met the criteria in six separate categories.

The money included £50,000 split between voluntary sector business, £40,000 to help children and young people develop independence, and £30,000 to help older people live independently in and around Redditch.

Among others, REACH CIC were granted £4,000 for their Savvy Savers initiative, £10,000 for their Building Futures project, and £4,032 for their Positive Change Training Course.

Touchstones were given £10,000 to support bereaved children in Redditch, Your Ideas were granted £10,000 for their holiday activities project, and Redditch Boxing Club will receive £10,000 for a Fighting for Peace personal development programme.

All councillors at last Tuesday’s executive committee meeting at the Town Hall voted in favour of the grants. Any funds not allocated in this round will be re-advertised for groups to apply for in early 2018.
