Great-grandmother covers Redditch home in Christmas lights for foodbank

A GREAT-grandmother has covered her Redditch home in Christmas lights to raise money for Friends of Isaac’s Food Bank.

Barbara Jones, also known as Nana Moon, said her festive illuminations on Johnson Close will remain switched on between 4pm and 10pm every day over the festive period.

Isaac Winfield, brainchild of the foodbank, joined Nana Moon to turn on the lights on Tuesday and was treated by a crowd cheering them on.

Barbara said: “Huge thanks to everyone who came out to see our lights go on.

“Hopefully we will be able to raise plenty of pennies to donate to this wonderful cause.”

This will be Nana Moon’s seventh year of lighting up Johnson Close with her festive display.

In keeping with the Christmas theme, she has put a post box at the end of the gate for people to put donations in.

Claire-Louise Chapman, Isaac’s mum said on Facebook: “Isaac had an amazing time at Nanna Moons Christmas lights switch on, and we would like to say a huge thank you for the opportunity and to everyone who attended.”
