LEADERS of a Redditch school rated ‘outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted “exude a determination to enable every pupil to achieve”.
Governors and leaders of St Augustine’s Catholic High School were pleased with the report from inspectors who visited on May 16, which praised their exceptionally rich curriculum and firmly embedded learning culture.
The report noted that pupils, who conduct themselves with great maturity in lessons and around the school, are keen to discuss and debate ideas, eager to find out more, and determined to improve.
It also praised the school for having an exceptionally rich curriculum, a comprehensive careers programme and for how its pupils and sixth-form students are exceptionally well informed about opportunities for their next steps in life.
Staff were also highly praised and inspectors reported that the executive principal, Mr Anthony Quinn, and the head of school Mr G O’Conor “exude a determination to enable every pupil to achieve his or her potential”.
The school on Stonepits Lane was rated ‘outstanding’ in every area the team of inspectors assessed and Principal Anthony Quinn said: “It’s great stuff – a really remarkable achievement.
“To be outstanding for every element is good for the kids and the town.”
Mr Quinn believes the secret of their success lies with both the children and the staff:
“We have children who want to come here and want to learn, and specialist staff who care about the children and strong leadership at all levels,” he added.
