THE Greig Hall Leisure Centre in Alcester reopened yesterday following a month-long closure.
New management Everyone Active, in partnership with Stratford District Council, closed the centre to improve facilities and to carry out safety works.
The centre has been redecorated and includes new low-energy lightning, flooring and gym equipment as well as a ‘fully repaired’ dance studio.
Customers will also benefit from new changing and showering facilities once they are completed in five weeks time.
And an artificial football pitch will open in the summer.
Stratford Councillor Sarah Whalley-Hoggins said: “I’m delighted that the centre has reopened but there’s still work to be done.
“The District Council is committed to providing first class sport and leisure facilities for everyone to enjoy and is committed to investing in the leisure facilities at the Greig.”
Everyone Active’s contract manager Alex Fuoco-Lang added that the works were ‘very much needed’.
“We strive to deliver high quality facilities and services to offer the local community great places to get active and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
