AN information event is to be held at Redditch Town Hall for organisations interested in bidding for the new round of borough council grants.
A bumper £161,000 in grants is available from the council for voluntary and community groups working in the town.
Organisations supporting services and projects in Redditch are invited to bid for the funds which cover the financial year 2018/19.
The categories for the grants scheme remain in line with meeting the council’s strategic purposes.
The categories are:
* Help me to be financially independent
* Help me to live my life independently
* Provide me with good things to do, see and visit
* Keep my place safe and looking good
* Help me run a successful business
* Stronger Communities
Voluntary sector organisations and interested applicants are encouraged to go along to the event, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Monday, October 9, and find out how to apply, where they can get help to make bids and any update on changes to the programme.
Councillor Bill Hartnett, leader of the council, said: “We are proud to offer these grants as a way of ensuring community groups have a source of local funding which is accessible and easy to apply for.
“No idea is too big or small and help is available if you’re unsure of the process. If you are part of a local voluntary or community sector organisations and you have an idea then please get in touch. It could be the start of something great.”
The grant scheme opens for bids on Monday, September 25 and closes again at 4pm on Friday, November 10, 2017 for delivery from April 2018.
There will also be three rounds of the smaller Stronger Communities grants (up to £500) available for groups to bid for in 2018.
