Handcrafted gifts at gallery in Redditch's Kingfisher Centre

SHOPPERS with an eye for a unique gift handcrafted in Redditch and surrounding areas will be in for a treat when the new Arts in Redditch (AIR) Spring Pop-Up Gallery opens its doors from May 4-14.

The gallery will occupy a vacant retail unit in Walford Walk in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, opposite ‘Muffin Break’ and will showcase the huge variety of artistic talent at work in the Redditch area, and encourage others to get involved.

Works will include painting, drawing, wood-turning, needlecraft, jewellery and photography, and all will be available to buy for collection at the end of the event.

In addition, there will be demonstrations to encourage visitors to ‘have a go’ themselves.

AIR chairman Malcolm Hall said: “This is the seventh Pop-Up Gallery we have staged in the Kingfisher Centre and these events have helped to demonstrate just how much interest there is in arts and culture in Redditch.

“More than 20,000 people have visited these events in the past three years and once again, we have had fantastic support from Ken Williams, general manager, and his team from the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, without whom these events could not happen.”

Muffin Break will be staying open until 7pm to serve refreshments on the evening.
