PARENTS are being encouraged to have their say on the new first school to be built in Foxlydiate, Redditch.
This next stage of consultation is asking parents to share their thoughts on the council’s proposals for the school.
These include the age range, the size of the school and the values.
This round of consultation ends on February 25.
As per November’s cabinet meeting, it has been agreed that the county council will deliver a new first school with nursery, including wrap around provision, and the school will be located on a site off Foxlydiate Lane, in Webheath.
The new school is required to meet the increased demand for places due to local housing developments.
The school will open initially as a three-form-entry (90 places per year group) in 2027, when it is forecast 30 children in each school year group will live on the new development, increasing to over 60 by 2030.
It will open initially to four and five-year-olds and will grow over time, taking a new cohort of reception children each September.
Coun Tracey Onslow, cabinet member for education said: “We want to work alongside the community throughout this project, as we have done in other new school projects, to ensure we can hear views and meet needs.
“We want to hear from as many parents as possible, so visit our dedicated website pages and fill out the form.”
