HEADLESS Cross community orchard is to appear at the Malvern Spring Show.
It means two apple trees from Redditch plus a slice of local turf covered in wildflowers will be making its way to the prestigious event which runs from May 11-14.
The invitation comes after the orchard came to the attention of TV gardener Hannah Genders, who lives locally.
“She is putting together a community edible objects section at the Malvern Show and was keen to get us involved,” said the orchard’s Alistair Waugh.
The result is that a trailer will travel from Redditch carrying two espalier fruit trees and wildflowers from the orchard, which is situated at the crossroads of Evesham and Birchfield Roads.
The orchard has been growing for more than five years and features purely Worcestershire varieties of apples, pears and plums including the Redditch Doddin apple, and the Pershore Yellow Egg plum.
