RESIDENTS in Redditch can get a check-up, support and advice when the NHS well-being bus visits the town’s Arrow Valley Countryside Centre tomorrow (Wednesday, October 16), for Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
Organised by Redditch Council with partners Rubicon Leisure, the bus will feature expert speakers and a wealth of information to educate and inform from 12pm to 2pm at The Boathouse.
Redditch Borough Council’s Portfolio-holder for Leisure, Coun Juliet Barker-Smith said: “The experts and information on the bus will cover a wide range of health topics and it is great to see it stop in the Borough once again.
“The fact it is Breast Cancer Awareness Day is timely to remind women to carry out monthly checks and there are professionals on hand to provide much needed support and advice.”
A Healthwatch Worcestershire representative will also be at the event, giving people the chance to have their say about health and care services across the county.
Feedback will be used to help inform improvements across the service in the future.
Redditch Borough Council leader, Coun Joe Baker said: “We are committed to providing opportunities to improve the health and well-being of our residents.
“The NHS bus is a wonderful free service which we are delighted to work with and make available to our residents.”
