FREE heart health checks will be on offer at a Redditch pharmacy as part of National Cholesterol Month.
Staff at Matchborough Pharmacy are encouraging residents to have the checks during October and are raising awareness of the importance of regularly monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol.
It follows a national drive called 50 Hearts where all pharmacies who complete 50 heart health checks during the month will be entered into a prize draw where they could win money for a local charity of their choice.
Pharmacist John Worton said: “Having a quick heart health check is a good starting point for anyone wanting to find out how healthy they are.
“High blood pressure and elevated cholesterol are linked to a number of serious conditions but many people are unaware that they are at risk and are therefore unsure of how to manage this.”
