HIGH winds and torrential rain forced the cancellation of Redditch market today (Monday).
Markets manager George Skett said they were all set to go ahead as normal first thing in the morning but as the weather deteriorated it was felt it would be safer to cancel.
“It wasn’t just because of the rain but the high winds too,” said Mr Skett.
“We don’t like cancelling a market, but when the wind starts hitting 35 to 40 mph it because a health and safety issue.”
