REDDITCH’S Farming Heritage is the subject of the next meeting of Studley Local History Group when Tony Green will be guest speaker.
Tony will describe how Redditch was once a small industrial town surrounded by open countryside and farms.
He will give a ‘then and now’ view of Redditch from above in 1945 and 2013 using Google Earth pictures, images and sales brochures for various farms in the Redditch area and finishing with a short archive film of a local working farm in the 1930s.
Born in Redditch, Tony is a founder member of Redditch Local History Society and a volunteer at Forge Mill Needle Museum.
His talk is on Tuesday, February 20 at 8.15pm at the Parish Centre in Old Vicarage Gardens, Studley, B80 7SG, and entry is just £2/£3.
