STAFF and pupils at Abbeywood First School RSA Academy are beaming with pride after being awarded Artsmark Gold.
The prestigious accolade is awarded by Arts Council England and acknowledges a school’s commitment and provision for the arts.
To achieve ‘Gold’ Abbeywood had to demonstrate high quality performances in dance, drama, music and art both inside and outside the classroom.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We are not stopping there because there’s also the possibility to get platinum award.
“To achieve this our aim is to influence arts driven practice across other schools.”
