WORCESTERSHIRE Cricket have secured funding through Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and Sport England, to launch five new Walking Cricket hubs in this year.

A slower paced version of the sport, Walking Cricket delivers skills to players of all ages and abilities.

Elsa-Marie Evans, club and community development officer at Worcestershire Cricket, said: “This format provides an exciting way to keep fit and active for those may not have played for a while, may have had injuries that have stopped them playing or are completely new to the game.

“Whether you’re batting, bowling, or fielding, Walking Cricket is a great form of cardio exercise and also helps to improve hand-eye coordination and flexibility.”

Weekly sessions are running at Birchensale Middle School in Bridley Moor Road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

All sessions are turn up and play, there is no need to book, and the first session is free, the cost per week after that is £3.
