A PENSIONER has fallen prey to a distraction theft at Morrison’s in Redditch and had two bank cards stolen which were used to take money out of his account.

The 90-year-old man was shopping in the supermarket at 1.30pm on Thursday (October 29) when a couple started to help him pack his up his purchases at the till while he paid.

They walked off but approached the victim again as he loaded the bags into his car. They told him he had dropped £10 and tried to put the money into his pocket.

When he checked his wallet he realised two bank cards were missing and called to cancel them but money had already been taken from his account.

Police believe the couple watched the man enter his pin in the machine as he paid for his shopping and were able to withdraw the funds.

The couple are described as Asian and in their 20s. The man was wearing a dark jumper and trousers and the woman had dark hair clipped up and was wearing a black and white striped top.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on the non emergency 101 number or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
