THE hunt has started to find a true champion of Redditch.
Members of the town centre Business Improvement District are looking for a BID manager – someone passionate about the town to be its voice, from the bright lights of the Kingfisher Shopping Centre to its historic heart in the Church Green conservation area.
And they’re also looking for a host of volunteers to sing the town’s praises and be its ambassadors.
“We are looking for a very effective person to really bring the BID to life in the town centre,” said BID board member Ken Williams, general manager of the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.
“Someone who is passionate about Redditch who can raise its profile and put it out there just how great our town centre is.
“Someone with leadership, who is enthusiastic and loves engaging with people and knows how to network and bring visitors into our town centre, and I mean all of our town centre, Church Green, Alcester Street and Unicorn Hill – all of it.
“Someone who can be that bridge and be a cheerleader for Redditch.”
He added the volunteer town centre champions would also play a key role.
“I know there are a lot of good people out there who love meeting others who could be our ambassadors.
“Led by the BID manager the aim would be to welcome people and promote our town centre.”
Ken added that the aim was to move quickly on appointing a BID manager – to apply email [email protected].
