A ‘HYBRID’ outline planning application has been received by Redditch borough council for 2,800 homes at the Foxlydiate/Bentley site.
The application was lodged in the same week that planning inspector Michael Hetherington held a further planning inquiry into proposals by both Redditch and Bromsgrove councils to build on the land.
A hybrid application outlines the proposed development with a second part dealing deals with access and engineering works.
A council spokesperson said: “The application is for 2,800 dwellings. Around 95 per cent of this application is in Bromsgrove.
“It includes a local centre which includes retail floor space to 900 square metres, 900m squared for health and community facilities and a first school.
“It has been submitted by Heyford Developments.”
The planning inquiry focused on claims by objectors to the scheme that the two councils had failed to properly look at alternative sites in the town for the homes, a claim vehemently denied by the authorities’ barrister Christopher Young.
