MORE than 100 people turned out for the annual Good Friday Walk of Witness around Redditch town centre.
The event is a time for participants and observers to gather, listen, and reflect.
The event is organised by Churches Together in Redditch.

It started at Our Lady of Mount Catmel Church where there was a short act of worship.
From there, it headed to the Town Hall where it stopped for prayer for the council, the community and the town.
Walkers then journeyed through the Kingfisher Centre and ended at St Stephen’s Church where there was a short service.

An enormous – almost life size – cross was carried and there were people dressed as Jesus, Mary and a Roman soldier.
Good Friday Walks of Witness are a meaningful tradition where Christians walk through their community, often carrying a cross, to symbolically retrace Jesus’ journey to his crucifixion.
It serves as a public act of remembrance and witness to the sacrifice Jesus made.

Through prayers and worship along the way, participants reflect on the solemn events of Good Friday and its significance for their faith.
It is a time for communal reflection and a powerful expression of Christian belief in the heart of towns and cities.
