REDDITCH Police and Worcestershire Trading Standards raided two shops in the town yesterday, seizing illegal tobacco and vapes and a large amount of cash.
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team joined the county’s trading standards officers and enlisted the help of expert detection dogs from B.W.Y Canine Ltd to sniff out the hauls.
In the first shop, illicit tobacco was found in a hole in the wall behind a mounted TV.
The dogs sniffed out the contraband which was promptly confiscated by officers.
In the second shop, the offending items were hidden in crates of drinks cans.
In total, thousands of pounds worth of tobacco and vapes was taken off the streets, along with the cash suspected to have come from the illegal activity.
