Inner Wheel Club still rolling strong after 100 years

Redditch Editorial 15th Feb, 2024   0

MEMBERS of the Inner Wheel Club of Redditch have celebrated the organisation’s centenary year.

The first Inner Wheel Club (of Manchester) was founded in 1924 by Margarette Golding, the first of nearly 4,000 Inner Wheel Clubs in existence today.

By 2022, Inner Wheel had grown to more than 120,000 members in 100 countries.

The members are proud volunteers enjoying service, friendship and fellowship, doing their bit for a better and stronger world and promoting international understanding.

Members in this country are celebrating under the banner of ‘100 for 100’ in many different ways – either making and donating items to charities both nationally and internationally, raising funds at Christmas coffee mornings and holding tombolas, giving 100 chocolate eggs at Easter and performing acts of kindness.

Visit innerwheel.co.uk for more information on the Redditch branch.
