Isaac's Kingfisher raffle store to boost food bank fund-raising

Redditch Editorial 17th Nov, 2022   0

FRIENDS of Isaac’s food bank has been at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre this week raising funds at their raffle store to continue helping those in need.

Raffle tickets will cost £1 each for children and £2 for adults with all the funds going back into the foodbank to help it get through January when people will need its services most.

Youngsters can win raffle prizes such as a three-month membership to Redditch Martial Arts and a £50 entertainer toy bundle, while lucky adults could take home a four-person inflatable hot tub, TV, alcohol and more.

And there is plenty to buy at the store, including a children’s lucky dip, toy keys to elves workshops, wooden pictures and coasters.

The charity shop will be there between 10am and 4pm every day until Saturday.

At 4pm on the final day, the raffle draw will take place live at facebook.com/FriendsofIsaacsFoodBank – the Friends of Isaacs food bank Facebook page.

The Marketplace Space business development manager Matt Smith approached Friends of Isaac’s about getting them into the shopping centre as part of a push to help local businesses and charities.

Youngster Isaac decided he wanted to set up his own foodbank alongside mum Claire during the pandemic and now has three sheds and a van.

The service is available to people 24/7 and helps around 50 families a week.

Mum Claire said: “We were very thankful to Matt for offering us this opportunity and the school was incredibly supportive in letting Isaac help – this really boosts his confidence and he’s even operated the card machine.

“We all want to raise as much as we can to help people during this time of need.”
