AFTER a year-long break due to pandemic, The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity – WOSP – is back in Redditch.
The fantastic fundraising event of music and culture is on Sunday, January 30 at Redditch Borough Community Sports and Social Club in Cherry Tree Walk, Batchley.
WOSP is the Polish version of Children in Need and this year supporters are invited to gather for 30th Grand Finale in the town to raise money to aid children’s eye medicine, focusing efforts on providing state-of-the-art kit for public hospitals in Poland.
This is a sixth time Redditch has hosted the WOSP Grand Finale event, including last year’s online edition.
As usual there will be loads of great bands on stage including Whisky, FRKS, Trio Almaro, The Charts and local Redditch band – Smokin’ Ashes.
There will also be plenty of attractions such as the Ghost – Airsoftgun team, a stilt and fire show from local performer Chloe, art workshops for children, face painting, tombola, auctions, stalls, and Zumba demonstrations.
Plus there will be a barbecue, traditional Polish pea soup and bigos, sweet waffles/hot chocolate and ice cream and other Polish delicacies.
Entry is free and everyone is invited to go along and have a good time and support the charity.
“This is our sixth WOSP live event in Redditch,” said Kamila Poczatek, who chaired the organising committee.
“We started our preparations a long time ago because we wanted to come back with a bang, and we are delighted that, once again, we can rely on Redditch Borough Community Sports and Social Club as a partner to host this event.
“The day will be full of activities and attractions for all thanks to our sponsors: Fair Accountancy and C&C Flooring, which have supported us all the way.
“We want to invite everyone to join us on the day and enjoy the fun.”
