It's the mane event: Redditch couple create business in a horsebox

Harry Leach 23rd Jun, 2018

A COUPLE have used a start-up business grant to convert a 1985 horsebox trailer into a fully-functional Prosecco and gin bar.

Tracy Hayward, aged 36, and Justin Bingley, 43, both from Redditch, showcased the ‘Mane Bar’ in the town centre at the OVO Tour Series cycling event in the town.

The idea came about last year when Tracy was at her son’s sports day and the sun was scorching.

Parents around her were wishing they could sit and enjoy a Prosecco in the heat.

From that moment the couple knew they could help out and bought an old horse trailer and stripped it down, turning it into the ‘Mane Bar’.

They ended up at the Tour Series when Redditch Borough Council called out of the blue. Tracy said: “The Tour Series was our first time setting up but just from being there we have managed to get booked in for three more events.”

The bar also sells cider, wine, beers and soft-drinks.
