Jessie’s jingles helping her grandad

SINGING Christmas jingles has helped a three-year-old raise £200 for a charity close to her family’s hearts.

Jessie Whitehouse has been performing a series of festive songs which are then shared on Facebook by her mom Kelly, the fund-raising manager for Macmillan Cancer Research in Worcestershire.

As well as the link with Kelly’s job, her dad – Jessie’s grandad – is currently being helped by the charity after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Kelly said the idea came to her when thinking about how the news would affect her family and about Jessie’s love of performing songs she learned at Rhymes Nursery. She asked her daughter if she would like to perform a song for grandad and Jessie enthusiastically agreed.

“Jessie’s dad Mark and I are so proud of what she’s done to support her grandad, she really is the apple of his eye and if we can do any small thing to make sure that other people facing this illness get some much-needed support, then we are all extremely proud of her.”
