All join in celebration in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 12th Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

CHILDREN and staff at St Stephens First School recently invited parents, carers and members of the local community to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday.

The playground was decorated with red, white and blue bunting and balloons, and tables were laid to resemble a traditional street party.

Cucumber sandwiches along with jam and fresh cream scones were served, as the celebrations began with the singing of the National Anthem.

The children had also designed a new 90th Birthday Carriage for the Queen and prizes of scooters and helmets were presented for the best two winning designs. Children had also took part in the ‘Clean for the Queen’ campaign which saw them out in force litter picking both in the school grounds and in the local community.
