THE WAIT was finally over for GCSE students across Redditch and Alcester when they received their results and got to see if all their hard work had paid off.

Pupils discovered if they had got the grades they needed to move onto sixth-form, college, other training or employment.

St Benedict’s Catholic High School

Students at St Benedict’s Catholic High School in Alcester have excelled, achieving beyond expectations.

In English, over a quarter of all students achieved an impressive Grade 9-7, with scores of students securing the very top grades.

Students are planning their futures having achieved their desired grades, with a record number of applicants applying to St Benedict’s Sixth Form in the new academic year.

Among the happy faces were Ciara Hart who achieved 8 Grade 9s and a Grade 8, Katherine Phillips who secured 7 Grade 9s, a Grade 8 and Grade 7 and Emma Smith who achieved 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s.

Luke Payton, Headteacher at St Benedict’s, said: “This is the first formal set of exams our students have sat since Covid, and they were under immense pressure to achieve well. But with the support of our community, we’ve come together to support each other.

“The results are a direct example of the support and dedication of the entire community of the school, and they have all done exceptionally well. Our students should be incredibly proud of themselves.”

St. Augustine’s Catholic High School

Students at St. Augustine’s Catholic High School were smiling after opening a hugely positive set of GCSE results.

Mr Gariff, Principal at St Augustine’s, said: “I cannot express how well our students have handled the challenges of recent years, and they should be celebrated for their effort and perseverance.

“Our students have bucked the national trends, and secured over 100 Grade 9s close to 500 grades above a 7. I couldn’t be more blown away by their achievements.”

Christa Vincent, Joseph Seager, Nicolas Jasiak and Noah Barker all secured six or more grade 9s across their studies.

Tudor Grange Academy

Despite an incredibly tough few years, Tudor Grange Academy Redditch are incredibly proud of the achievements of their students.

Mrs Marie McNamara said: “We are extremely proud of our students and their achievements. I would like to thank all staff for their continued effort and congratulate all students.

“We are looking forward to seeing many of our students again in Sixth Form and would encourage any students from other schools looking for Sixth Form places to come and visit”.
