Deputy Chief Constable Chris Singer said: “The aim of Protect 2016 was to give you a fuller picture of the role of the police in your community, to help you understand how we operate and to see the demands on a modern-day police force.
“We don’t work in isolation and I think it’s also important to acknowledge the wide range of activities that are carried out with our partner agencies, such as Trading Standards, Social Services, local housing associations, the Street Pastors, council licensing officers, Dog Wardens and the Fire and Rescue Service.
“We hope that during these 10 days we have reassured you have a committed and professional police service working for you, that our officers are out on the beat and that there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure we are protecting you from harm.”
